"Schoools out for summer!" (not for-ever)

Things to do before you leave for Summer break!

  • Sign up for a checkout time 24 hours in advance.
  • Remember that 24-hour quiet hours start Friday, May 2!
  • Have everything out of your room. Clean your room.
  • Clean means swept, wiped, or mopped if necessary!
  • Take all trash out to compactor or dumpster.
  • Set up room furniture as two identical halves.
  • Set your room temperature to medium; turn fan to low.
  • Close and lock windows; leave mini blinds down & open.
  • Turn off your room lights and lock the door.
  • Checkout with an RA to sign the RCR and return the key.

Summer Hall has been moved to Bemis!

Everyone must be moved out of Poland by 12noon on Sunday 5/11/08 unless you are moving to Summer Hall. Summer Hall transition is 12-4p, after which Poland will be closed for summer.

The Department of Housing and Residence Life is seeking qualified applicants to staff our front desks during the 2008-2009 school year. We are seeking determined individuals to fill vacancies in our desk clerk and night clerk positions.
Please completed and return the attached application to the Housing and Residence Life Office located in Southwest Hall at your earliest convenience. Please speak with your hall directors for additional information regarding these job opportunities.

Where: DUC South Lawn (upper part)

  • Rock Wall Climbing
  • Bounce House Games: jousting, oversized boxing gloves, etc
  • Obstacle course challenge
  • Labyrinth Course
  • Stress Balls & Finger Painting
  • Games - including Corn Hole

Peer Career Counselors (PCCs): The Career Services Center is hiring Peer Career Counselors for the next academic year. If you want to get a head start on your professionalism, career development, and put it all on your résumé -- apply to be a PCC by April 18th!
  • 2.5 GPA or higher
  • 2-semester commitment
  • 5 hours per week
  • Complete application, letter of interest, and submit transcript

Summer school housing

It's in Poland this summer! Look for the blue fliers around the hall for more details.
  • Double room: $85/week Private room: $125/week (limited availability)
  • Poland closes for Spring at 12 noon on Sunday, May 11.
  • Unless you are pre-registered* for summer housing, you must be out by 12 noon!
  • Transition to summer hall is 12-4p that day.
  • Everyone must be out of their Spring room assignment by 4pm.
* You can pre-register for summer housing at the central Housing office between Mon. Apr.14 and Fri. May 9.

More details about checking out of your room will be available in a few weeks, from your RA and the floor meetings!
